CREATE A 30 SECOND TV COMMERCIAL TO CELEBRATE
BELU WATER

Sponsored by Weilands
The brief
Create a 30 second TV commercial to celebrate Belu water.
Proposition
Start a chain reaction.
Mandatory requirements
• A single execution suitable for TV and online
• Include Belu’s logo (available at the URL below) and the URL www.belu.org
Tone of voice and brand values
Belu produces delicious water in beautiful bottles, is the most environmentally friendly brand on the
market and all its profits go to clean water projects, both in the UK and around the world. It aims to
raise the bar within the industry and expose its laziness towards current issues.
Most of all Belu aims to make a real difference to the lives of those without accessible, clean drinking
water. Your creative should be infectious, positive, playful, fun, friendly and focus on solutions rather
than problems.
Target audience
The ‘do what I can’ consumer – people who have an understanding about the world’s problems and
want to make a difference, but who aren’t prepared to go out of their way to do so. They want to ‘do good’
but only if it is easy; for example, they probably won’t spend more to buy organic or fair trade products.
Background
Belu is far more than just bottled water. It was established to address the fact that a quarter of
the world’s population still does not have access to clean drinking water. 100% of Belu’s profits
go to clean water projects around the world; in fact we’ve calculated that every bottle sold provides
water for one person for one month – therefore one person alone really can start something good.
Belu has launched the UK’s first biodegradable bottle with the hope that it will trigger a new era of
friendly plastics. Made from corn it is compost-able in just 12 weeks, hence it is grown from the
land and returns to it without leaving a mark. Belu is also the first brand of its kind to measure,
reduce and offset all the carbon emissions released in the process of bottling, transporting and
disposal of drinking water. Belu was awarded ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ by the Duke of Kent,
has won design awards for its glass bottles, was the official water at the 2007 Live Earth concert
at Wembley and is endorsed by many high profile individuals including the singer Bryan Adams!

completed head mod

first go at head topology

when i started modeling the head in max using these reference i noticed that my edge flow was wrong, so i needed to start again and as this had already taken a little while to achieve i was not looking forward to doing this again.
topology 2 this was my second attempt at head topology.

as you can see my edge flow is a lot better this time but as i was getting bodged down with this i decided to try a different way of modeling the face by instead of pulling each vertex to create a face , i decide to use a plane and extrude to create my head as i felt this was better as i could see each individual features so therefore i could model it with more detail.
The tutorial i followed was 3D Modeling of a Human Head the results where quite good and it was relatively quick compared to pulling each vertex.
the first step was to make the lips from the reface images

once i had done this the next step was to create the eye and link it to the lips to the eye and then create the nose.

once i had done this i then began filling out the face i also used a turbo smooth to see how my face was looking

finished face
The next thing i will need to do if i have to is to add a UV unwrap and added the ears
i had done this but my USB Disk broke so therefore i have not had to time to do this but this is the final result.

making fluffy clouds
i have started making clouds for my fly scene i started by playing around with a tea pot to see if i could turn it in to a cloud.
i started by drawing a tea pot and then i added particals to it i used the partial veiwer to achive this. i then created a matrerial in paint jsut using a black and white bg and dragin it down to opcity channel i also used mask and a graidt ramp to achive the finshed material and this is the final result.

sem 2
I have not yet started on my Modling of my face, but i have choosen a berif, and have began working on it the breif i have choosen is for the company BLue water.
As this company is about the envoiment i have started modling the earth and began thinking about a story board.
